Light and shadows draw me in and reveal all sorts of beautiful forms. Photography allows me to show others what I see.
I've had a camera in my hand since I was a child. I started using it as a means of expression when I was a teenager. As an art major in college, I was involved in so many mediums, but none fulfilled me as much as photography. The other mediums helped me with many aspects of photography; composition, light, design....but the camera was the main manner I wanted to express myself.
I loved shooting, but I partied in the darkroom. Music blaring. No phone. The smell of the chemicals. It was a universe designed just for me.
My path in this world led me elsewhere. Life had gone digital by the time I came back to photography. Perfect for family life.
Now that my son is an adult, I am able to explore all I want, as much as I want. I have gone back to my roots producing pictorial essays, as well as keeping my eye fresh with other genres. Geometrics seem to set me free. That is where I find light and shadows truly speak to me.
